State Theatre New Jersey
In spring 2021, I was a marketing intern for the State Theatre New Jersey in downtown New Brunswick. During that time, the theatre was undergoing renovations, so I took pictures of the new installations in the theatre to keep its Instagram followers updated on what to expect when they stepped in for the grand reopening. I also spent my days crafting blog articles, press releases, Instagram posts, and Spotify playlists to drum up interest in the theatre’s online performances and events, including the Milk & Cookies concert series and online Trivia Nights. One of my favorite projects was a blog post about the early 1920’s I wrote in anticipation of the State Theatre’s 100th anniversary. In order to write it, I had to research global events and social trends during their transitional period in 1921, including the end of the Spanish Flu pandemic, changes in women’s fashion, and the silent movie experience.
